What is Acid Washing?

Acid washing is a specialised exterior cleaning technique used to remove tough dirt, algae or other grime from your surfaces. Whether you have a brick, stone, block, or render surface, we can use our specialist acid washing solution to lift the dirt off without causing damage to the material. Our solution is followed up by a pressure wash to ensure the dirt is thoroughly removed and your property is left good as new!

Acid Washing FAQs

Yes, we do. Our pressures have a wide range of settings to accommodate every job. Some walls require a more gentle pressure whilst others benefit from a strong blast.

Generally, we use two chemicals called Hydrochloric Acid and Hydrofluoric Acid. One breaks down surface dirt and grime whilst the other is used for more stubborn dirt and carbon deposits.

Most brickwork will not be affected by a chemical wash. It very much depends on the integrity of the brickwork. If it seems likely that brickwork will be damaged by the process, this will always be discussed with the customer before work commences.

If there is concern about the windows and doors, we will mask them up to ensure they are protected.

When acid washing, we will require access to your water supply in order to carry out the work.

Acid washing can occasionally get a touch messy. At the end of the day, we are washing dust, dirt and grime away so it’s to be expected. However, our technicians are extremely conscientious and always ensure they clean up after themselves.
